Threads: 6 (ritual; see text)
Weaving Difficulty: 17/22
Casting Difficulty: 20
Range: Touch
Duration: 1 week
Area of Effect: 10 × 10 yards
Effect: Creates a flying extravagance
Keywords: Ritual.
This ritual spell enchants a fine quality carpet no larger than four square yards to become a glorious flying platform.
The spellcaster carefully lays out the carpet or rug, which must be of fine quality, though can have seen better days so long as it’s well-loved by the spellcaster, and uses their hand to stroke it gently, moving the weave subtly to form glyphs along it. Woven threads turn the carpet threads with the glyphs silvery and iridescent, creating a new pattern along the carpet. Each Thread Weaving test (or equivalent) takes 30 minutes.
Once the threads are complete, the spellcaster spreads their arms wide, presenting the carpet to the world, and makes a Spellcasting (20) test.
If successful, a very stylish ship of sorts forms underneath the carpet, which becomes the centerpiece of the gallery floor.
The gallery is a strange hybrid of a theater balcony and galley, complete with comfortable seats, embellished railing, and functioning oars. However, the oars serve no function, but certainly make it look grand! The gallery carries up to Illusionist Circle Namegivers regardless of their size in style and comfort. Unoccupied space can be filled with up to 200 lbs of cargo which is lashed unobtrusively to the eaves of the gallery.
The gallery cruises overland at a very comfortable 15 miles per hour. It continues on its last heading until the spellcaster directs it otherwise.
The spellcaster verbally controls the gallery, requiring their concentration as a Standard action.
The spellcaster can have one casting of this spell at a time and it must be recreated after the duration expires.
