Throughout Earthdawn, you'll see references to distances and weights expressed in the U.S. customary unts of inches, feet, yards, miles, and pounds. Recognizing many gamers are more familiar with the metric system, our goal is to make converting U.S. customary units to metric as simple as possible (rather than as accurate as possible) in the Distance, Weight, and Volume Conversion Table.
These approximations are used to make the math simpler for on-the-fly calculations. Most distances are given in yards, making it a simple matter to replace “yards” with “meters” to get a (near) metric equivalent.
